Natural Kitchen Hacks Using Fresh Lemons and Home.Made. Sport Drinks


Yes, there are loads of recipes for lemon lovers. But that's not all you can do with this sensational citrus! Now that you know the trick to easy juicing, make a big ol' batch of lemon juice. Pour the juice into ice trays and freeze. Then add them to recipes as needed.

4. Make your own lemon-fresh kitchen cleanser

Don't pitch the peels! Add lemon peels to a large jar. Pour in white vinegar and store for two weeks in a cool, dark space. Then combine your lemony vinegar concentrate with an equal amount (1:1) of distilled water. Boom!

5. Make homemade sports drinks

Save a ton on sports drinks by making them at home. Combine the juice of half a lemon with a pinch of salt, 2 teaspoons of raw honey, and 8 ounces of water, shake it up, and chill. It's a terrific refresher on a hot day.


Here's another DIY sports drink recipe that calls for lemon juice and orange juice aka Greaterade:



8 cups fresh cold water, divided


  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon fine Himalayan pink salt

  • 3/4 teaspoon calcium magnesium powder (optional)

  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, strained

  • 2 lemons, juiced

  • Pour 1 cup of the water into a large pot. Add honey, salt, calcium magnesium powder, and cayenne. Place the pot over low heat and whisk until ingredients have dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to return to room temperature.

  • Add juices to room temperature mixture. Pour in the remaining 7 cups water and whisk until well blended.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Base1 to 2 cups of Coconut Water depending on which flavor 1/4 t. sea salt Lemons Sugar-Free Simple Syrup

Add in’s for different flavors

1 cup Unsweetened Tart Cherry Juice 3 Limes 2 cups of Red Seedless Grapes 2-3 Large Oranges

HOW TO MAKE IT

Lime

Mix 2 cups of coconut water, juice of 3 limes, 3-4 T. of Sugar-Free Simple Syrup, and 1/4 t. of Sea Salt.

Lemonade

Mix 2 cups of coconut water, juice of 2 lemons, 3-4 T of Sugar-Free Simple Syrup, and 1/4 t. of Sea Salt.

Orange

Mix 1 cup of coconut water, 1 cup of juice from oranges (about 2 to 3 oranges), 1-2 T. of sugar-free simple syrup, 1/4 t. sea salt.

Tart Cherry

Mix 1 cup of coconut water, 1 cup of unsweetened tart cherry juice, 1 T. of sugar-free simple syrup, 1/4 t. sea salt and a squeeze of lemon juice.


Grape

Mix 1 cup of coconut water, 1/4 t. sea salt, squeeze of lemon juice, 2 T. of sugar-free simple syrup and set aside.

In a blender add 2 cups of washed red seedless grapes with 3 T. of water and blend until smooth. you can add this mixture directly to the coconut water, or strain through a sieve and add to coconut water mixture if you don’t like the pulp.
